Bernard Geomatics Limited is a specialist chartered land surveying company regulated by RICS based in Swindon, Wiltshire. We provide new and innovative surveying solutions and services to businesses and individuals across the United Kingdom and overseas. Our services range from simple topographical survey projects to complex and detailed PAS128 utility trace and terrestrial laser scanning commissions which require the deployment of modern and innovative surveying methods, techniques and technologies.

We are a major industry player in the South West of England and to date, we have contributed to the successful completion of a number of high profile very complex and multidisciplinary survey projects from within the public and private sector. Our continued success in surveying means we require high calibrate surveyors and survey technicians to join our expanding team and to be involved with some of the most interesting and diverse surveying projects in the UK, Europe and the rest of the world. During 2020 the company intends to open regional survey offices in mainland Europe, therefore all candidates will have an equal opportunity to travel and work on some very prestigious projects across mainland Europe.
Available Roles
We have various available office and field positions for newly qualified or well-established land surveyors and survey technicians. Each position includes a variety of office and field tasks associated with land surveying and geomatics projects, with typical duties comprising of performing fieldwork associated with land and engineering surveying, including terrestrial laser scanning, measured building surveys, setting out and various tunnelling survey projects which are executed by either direct tunnel entry or by utilising new and innovative methods of using inverted scanning and ROV laser scanning surveys, and performing survey computations and drawing of geospatial data collected by total stations, GNSS receivers, terrestrial laser scanners and ground-penetrating radars (GPR).

What's in it for you?
We offer competitive salaries depending on the candidate experience, 20 days paid holiday in each calendar year in addition to bank holidays. After each year of continued employment, you will also gain 1 extra day of paid holiday (up to 10 extra days), laptop, the opportunity to work on interesting projects, professional fees paid, double rate for working at weekends and triple rate for working on  public bank holidays. Each employee is eligible for salary review annually on the 1st January of each year  and each employee is eligible for out-of-cycle salary review and promotion at any time during their employment, should the employee exceed the required level of performance as specified in the current job role.
Requirements
In order to meet the requirements for one of the positions above with exception to apprenticeship, you will need to meet the following requirements:
•    1+ years of working experience from the land and civil engineering surveying discipline.
•    Good knowledge of using the latest surveying technology as well as relevant processing software packages such as AutoCAD, Terra Model, Leica Cyclone, Star Net, 3D Reshaper, etc. Knowledge of Revit & BIM is a bonus!
•    Excellent written and spoken English Language and excellent presentation and reporting skills. It is important to be a very confident speaker and if you also speak a second or third European language in addition to fluent English will be deemed as an additional benefit.
